Duxter's Life Story

Duxter was born in Garland, Texas, in the spring of 2007.
The City employees had a "NAME THAT DUCK" contest to find the perfect name for him.
Shari Elledge of the Parks & Recreation Department
submitted the winning name!

Duxter is very young, but very smart.
He loves to read and learn about everything he can....
especially about water !

He found out that the City of Garland Water Utilities
was searching for someone to help them tell young students
about water and water conservation.

It was the perfect job for Duxter.
Not only does he hang around water as much as he can,
he's blue like beautiful ocean waves!

Duxter set up a meeting with the Managing Director of
Water Utilities, Mr. Jack May, to talk about the job.
He was really nervous since he had heard that Mr. May
was quite the Quackerjack in his field.

Once he met Mr. May and they discussed all the things
that Duxter could help them do to educate youngsters
in Garland about water matters, he felt right at home.

Mr. May wanted Duxter to get busy coming up with ways
to reach the children and share water facts & fun!
So, he did. He put together this website full of activities and games, plus lots of information and resources.

Duxter is just getting started with this project,
so check back once in a while to see
if new pages have been added that you'll enjoy.

Parents: We encourage you to visit this website with your children, color the pages, complete the puzzles. You will come away having taught your children and yourselves important lessons about our valuable water resource!
