Duxter's Life Story Where do we get our water? Where does it go? Puzzles / Coloring Activities / Resources Teacher Resources

Now that you know "where the water goes" around your house,
what can YOU DO to "Save a Drop"
and help to conserve water?

Be sure to wash full loads when you can.
If you wash smaller loads, adjust the
machine settings for the right load size.

Take shorter showers!
You can also turn off the running shower
while you wash your hair - then turn it
back on to rinse and finish your shower.

Another hint: Baths take less water than showers!

Do not use the toilet as a trash can
for things like kleenex!

Turn off the running water while you
brush your teeth.

Watch for leaks inside your home
and outside at water connections.
Fix them!

Whenever you use water, turn it
off as much as possible.

Only run the dishwasher when it is full.
If you wash dishes by hand, fill the sink with
water to wash instead of running the water
all of the time.

Parents: We encourage you to visit this website with your children, color the pages, complete the puzzles. You will come away having taught your children and yourselves important lessons about our valuable water resource!
